Greetings from the New York Campus,
Happy Lunar New Year to all who celebrate this wonderful holiday! Here on campus, we marked this important event with a student-led assembly. Students from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and South Korea prepared an exciting and educational program for our Friday assembly.
Thank you to all the participants for a wonderful performance and celebration!
Another celebration—this time recognizing academic achievement—took place at our National Honor Society (NHS) induction ceremony. Each year, many students apply to become members of this prestigious group. Selection is based on the four pillars of NHS: Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. Please join me in congratulating our newly inducted members!
As we settle into the second semester, students and faculty alike are immersed in a busy rhythm, balancing academics, sports, extracurricular activities, and social lives. With so many competing priorities, there never seems to be enough hours in the day—but we are making the most of our time!
On the university acceptance front, our Grade 12 students have begun receiving their first offers from various universities, and so far, things are looking promising for our soon-to-be graduates. Meanwhile, Grade 11 students are increasingly focused on university selection and the application process. Our dedicated team of University and Academic Advisors continues to deliver a comprehensive university guidance curriculum, ensuring that students—especially those in Grade 11—are well-prepared for life after EF Academy.
February is one of the most eventful months of the year. It is Black History Month, a time when we reflect on the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., whose birthday we celebrated just a few weeks ago, and discuss the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Our signature event, the Culture Fair, is just around the corner, and we are also gearing up for our second Model United Nations (MUN) Conference.
This year is particularly special as EF, our parent organization, celebrates its 60th anniversary on February 12th. Bertil Hult founded Education First (EF) in 1965 to break down language barriers and foster cultural exchange. Since then, EF has grown into a global educational powerhouse with a presence in over 50 countries, helping millions of students develop the skills they need to thrive in an interconnected world. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, EF is hosting an "EF Everywhere Challenge," inviting people around the world to share the EF love.
I look forward to sharing highlights of these and other exciting events in our next newsletter.
For now, I bid you farewell and remain open to any communication through your preferred mode of contact.
Be well,
)
