Dear Families,
Autumn greetings from our beautiful campus in New York, where the leaves are about to start changing colors and everything will become even more fresh and beautiful.
I cannot believe it has already been a month since starting this academic year. We are now well on our way with everything, our classes are running well, all of the changes and adjustments are over, and we feel that everyone is the class where they could learn best and at appropriate level. Our chief objective is to set all our students for success in their studies. By now you have received letters from all of the teachers introducing themselves and the courses they teach. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any of our teachers, deans, program coordinators should you have any questions and/or need more information on this or that course.
Our clubs are up and running and busy with setting goals and objectives for the year. I am pleased to see that our own EFATV is off to a great start with a fresh episode airing last Friday during our assembly.
Fall sports season is well on its way. Please see the update in this newsletter. All our teams are off to a good start. Also, join me in congratulating our Athlete of the Month! Please read more details below.
I would be remised not to mention our spirit week, when all of our students and staff took part in daily activities and dressed up in a certain way. The culmination of the week was our Pep Rally, when we cheered on all of our student athletes. The energy was super high. Pep Rally is a very American notion, much like Homecoming. Some of our students took a trip to a school next door to witness all of the festivities of Homecoming, including, food and cheers and, of course, an American football game, with a rendition of fireworks to close of the night. Again, a perfect introduction into American High School culture, so different and new to all of us who did not grow up in the US.
This is just a short write up on what is going on here on Campus in New York. I am sure you hear a lot more from your children.
I end with an open invitation to contact me with anything at any time. I am always happy to hear from you.
Be well,
Until next time,
Dr. Vladimir D. Kuskovski
Head of School, EF Academy New York
